New Goblin Racials and Worgen Racial Abilities and Racial Traits in WoW Cataclysm

Besides the cool factor, the only real important thing for classes in Warcraft is racials. If you’re wondering what kind of racials goblins and worgen will have in the Cataclysm expansion, then look no further. Let me tell you that the new race racials in WoW Cataclysm have received a major buff, and will affect gameplay considerably. All other races in WoW Cataclysm will have their racials, racial traits and racial abilities upgraded to achieve balance.
For now here are the new racials for Goblins and Worgen.
Goblin Racials in WoW Cataclysm:
- Goblin Racial – Best Deals Anywhere – You always receive the best discount regardless of faction. This means that you will be saving alot of money if you happen to purchase alot of stuff from vendors -> think of stuff like quest items, profession items, items when you’re leveling in WoW Cataclysm (this is huge), and maybe even regeants (would perhaps be too much).
- Goblin Racial – Pack Hobgoblin – This racial in Cataclysm will call your personal servant allowing you bank access for a duration of 1 minute. 30 mins cooldown. This is a borderline IMBA racial in WoW Cataclysm. How many times have you had no space in your bags and been forced to throw some valuable stuff away or even some bandaids or something.
- Goblin Racial – Better Living Through Chemistry – Goblin Alchemists will have their skills increased by 15. My first thought is that this would allow Goblin twinks in WoW to perhaps have an unfair advantage at the 19 an 29 brackets due to the usefulness of engineering at those levels.
- Goblin Racial – Rocket Barrage – This Goblin racial ability launches your belt rockets an an enemy, dealing fire damage. 2 min cooldown. It is primarily a source of another burst damage potential that is off the global cooldown, and that is a pretty overpowered racial trait if you ask me.
- Goblin Racial – Rocket Jump – This goblin racial trait will activate your rocket belt to jump forward. Anyone remember that Warrior ability in the last expansion called Heroic Leap. Rocket Jump for Goblins sounds like Blizzard took that failed ability and strapped it on Goblins. Goblin mages who frost nova, blink and rocket jump are gona be annoying that’s for sure. 2 min cooldown only too!
- Goblin Racial – Time is Money – 1% increased attack and casting speed. To top off the list, why not just hand Golins a 1 increase attack speed….Blizzard wants us all to resubscribe to Wow and play Cataclysm as a Goblin, so a little dps boost won’t hurt would it.
Worgen Racials in WoW Cataclysm:
- Worgen Racial Trait: Viciousness
- +1% damage is given to Worgen’s and I can already see dps meter freaks lining up to pick up this extra advantage.
- Worgen Racial: Dark Flight
- +Worgen get 70% run speed for 10 seconds. Yes, that is pretty much a free Worgen sprint! 3 minute cooldown
- Worgen Racial passive ability: Abberation
- Warlock and Deathknights are surely going to whine about this: Length of Curses and Diseases reduced by 15%.
- Worgen Profession ability: Flayer
- Skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster. Skinning knife not required for skinning.
- Two Forms
- Switch to your currently inactive form. 1.5 sec cooldown.
- This is a cosmetic switch that transforms you from Worgen to Human, or Human to Worgen in Cataclysm.
- In combat you will always remain a Worgen, but when you’re out of combat you can play some mind tricks on people.
These are definitely some powerful and very cool racial abilities and racial traits and lets hope that the other races in WoW Cataclysm also get new racials that match the ones given to Goblins and Worgen.

nah those arent real abilities… worgan are not freely going to be able to transform into humans if they could they would not choose to be them as they are cursed and hate what they are witch is why they join they alliance

They’re going to have to shave off some of the goblin abilities, this is going to give them a distinct advantage over all the other races.

You are absolutley correct. I stopped playing my 68 DK today waiting for the DPS increase of Cat.
imo the new races balances the society aspect of wow. goblins give the horde another empirical race, like the undead and belves, and worgen give alliance another bestial race, like the draenai and (sort of) nelves.
I’m also looking forward to seeing the racials changes in the other races. The overhaul on vanilla wow is going to be epic, and changing around some of the race mechanics and the role they play in the game will be exciting for me (plus some of the race changes will hopefully deter people from overpopulating the servers with werewolves and little green men).
Has Blizzard released the new racial abilities for the other races yet?
The new racial abilities for other races haven’t been announced yet. Blizzard has said that they will upgrade and improve the other races racials to match this new powerlevel of Goblins and Worgens. I hope they take their time because any small level of inbalance in the power of racials will create fury among the players.

I agree with the fact that there will a lot of dispute for the two races. However, the fact remanes true that they are going to intoduce new classes for all the races, stating that alot of peolpe will be deleting alot to make new ones of a diffrent race.

To those of you who think that you need to delete your dk’s to make a Worgen/Goblin dk, you’re retards. Just go read the FAQ about Cataclysm,(it’s only 2 pages) and you’d know that Blizzard is coming out with race changes shortly after the x-pack comes out.
I read on the wow website that they will be introducing a race change feature at some point… so you won’t need to delete… just change your race =P
the worgen ability to turn human is real the worgen dont stay human because they cant for extended amounts of time. it is also not a natural ability they get it from a serum they make in the starting area quests. they shoudnt have made goblins playable they should have given hord half-vampires to balance out the werewolves.

Dude, Goblin Racial Traits are so much better than Worgen’s. More attack speed, access to bank every 30 minutes, cheapest price on any faction (that means cheaper mounts), nice fire burst damage and a free Blink. What more can you ask for ? I’m totally making a Goblin Mage, even though I like Alliance and a Worgen Hunter for the looks – a wolf with a werewolf.
Correction, neither of the race’s racial abilities are “better than the other” except in reguards to your particular play style and interests. Both of the race’s seem interesting and to me there are abilities in each race that I would rather do without for something more interesting to me, however you cannot please everyone. and I refuse to join the massive group of whining, sniveling, this class, that class overpowering nerf noobs. Oh wait…was that a complaint I just made? Arrrrggghhhh *Throws character off cliff*
Worgen’s get like nothing worth while to even consider switching to a Ally, Goblins have the best racials, look the coolest, and have better classes. Worgen Paladin, wtf? I’m deffinately rolling a Gob Shammy. Plus they have an Alchemist boost, that’d be my prof fo sho. I really don’t understand why people would want the Worgen on the Horde… Where’s the comic relief? Ally already has some funny races to it such as Gnome, Dwarf and sissy dancing Draenei. I’ve been waiting on Gobs since pre-TBC and I’de be PISSED if they went to the Alliance.

Um you guys have heard of the race change feature they are coming out with right? srsly as soon as caty comes out i’m changing my dk, warrior, and druid over to wargen! can’t wait!! =)
I saw it speculated somewhere that they might receive the racials over time, like by leveling.
I’m not so into the worgen and goblins… What I do hope however, is that they revamp some of the vanilla races racials. Have Dwarves stoneform be a 1% chance on taking a strike to remove all bleed/poison/disease/curses and increase armor by X*1/2 level% for 10-20 Seconds. More people should roll dwarves. I’m making my Tauren Shammy a Dwarf in Cata.

Ive been readying all over that There ARE going to be race changes but its going to be very delayed for worgen and goblins, seeing as u could just race change and be a very high level, it would kind of defeat the purpose lol but race changes for the other 5 races is still a go right when it comes out
blizzard is just making there life harder why not cut some of the goblins and worgens abilities .Instead of that they will get all other races a new abilities.

Wow…Worgens are getting nothing compared to Goblins. They have a free blink, and bank access anywhere u want, and even more. Heck the Goblins even look 4times cooler then the Worgens im glad that they gave the Horde Goblins, im totally rolling a goblin rogue.
I agree with not letting race changes to worgen and goblins right away.. really deletes the purpose. But don’t let that stop you from making one, i know im going worgen druid.
The way to stop Goblin Mages is make a mage or something with a trap and lay it down where the are gunna land. I mean not that hard to think about it. Really and same for worgens. i have a mage and just lay down a frost nova when people are running around in Warsong. And also think about a Worgen Druid, a dog into a cat that’s funny

You guys do know that goblins Rocket Belt and Rocket jump are on shared CDs, meaning they get 1% haste + 1 racial/2mins puting them reasonably equal with other races and not OP

I remember at blizzcon someone asking “Won’t goblin/worgen dks mess up lore?”. response was that we will still be able to make worgen/goblin dks, so where are your sources people? All races can be DK’s, maybe YOU should read up on it first..
all races can play Death Knights was confirmed at Blizzcon there is no update about changing that at this time. there not going to shave off goblin racials. theyre racials are all convience, not gameplay advantages. i think its safe to say everyone is going to use a goblin as a profession character. but in terms of dps and arena it isnt a huge advantage except for maybe rocket jump, which has a cd and for all we know might not be usable in arena.

I am pretty sure you are trolling because you do not like what blizzard says. This is a fan site, the information we got about the Worgens and goblins racials came STRAIGHT from Blizzard themselves so saying that the information we got from Blizzard is a load of crap is quite frankly insulting not only to the owners and editors of this site but also to Blizzard.
first, the thing about worgen’s form shifting has been confirme by blizzard to be true. Second, worgen are gonna be so beast as rouge and druid. Rouge cause of the dps and sprint, adn druid because of what im about to say. Imagine u see some human just walking along, and sudenly an enemy attacks it. You see it suddenly become a wolf dude, then a bear, then a cat, and then either a fluffy owl wolf teletubby thing or a big tree. That would be so awesome. I also agree that goblins need some stuff shaved off and that everyone is gonna be a goblin mage

I think its redicuous blizzard is trying to even out alliance and horde stereo’s giving horde a midget and alliance a barbaric warrior taks away from the image of an army of hope and an army of savagery. I think that the goblin burst damage ability will be useless after first 2 lvl’s just like war stomp for tauren no one uses that.
Before I heard about this expansion, I have hated the goblins. Their voice was like glass in my ears. I avoided cities such as gadgetzan and booty bay. But now they are gonna be running around orgrimmar even more then normal. Come on man… If this really goes through, I’m done…..

Hey worgen’s are gunna be pimp 1% more dmg that’s just hot then again goblin’s get 1% more attack speed/casting speed.. So it depends do you like haste or dmg more also its cool thats worgen’s dont need a skining knife goblins pretty much have engineering worgen’s get the speed boost witch i like more then anything.Goblins get better dea;’s on gear and also get a bank when ever they need one that’s somthing that would come in handy because you have a shit load of room i love having xtra room because i always run out. i think both goblin and worgen are balanced and its up to you to decide weather u want buffs(goblin)or agility and change(worgen),it also helps to think about class and profession will benefit most from it. (by the way this is my opinion and i don’t want to start a huge argument)

Well I personaly think that the goblins have a money advantage which is not fair to other races so I think that they shouldn’t give goblins that ability because with that ability rouge goblins would be way over powering in the 19-29 bracket and if their going to give a goblin that ability all other races should get the same ability but other than ability the goblin and worgen will be evenly matched as twinked rouges but this is just my a opinion so I don’t start a big argue fight.
